Keltie has been bred to 5X Champion Man in the Moon's Rigel for her Fall 2023 cria -- this pairing should produce a phenomenal offspring, as our favorite offspring thus far was when Keltie was crossed with a Matrix Majesty line herdsire. Rigel comes from lines with Matrix Majesty behind him and he's out of CCNF Leviathan, who has been an incredibly prepotent male. Rigel's first cria hit the ground in December and she’s spectacular!!! Keltie is strong and solidly built. She has a very pleasing body style with gorgeous conformation, excellent size, great head, and heavy bone -- and full coverage fleece from her head down to her toes. She consistently has one of the heaviest cutting fleeces each year. We've come to love her quirky and inquisitive nature. She has proven to be a very good mom, with easy birthing and plenty of milk. We purchased this gorgeous girl at the 2014 Double O Good Auction. She was a head turner then, and continues to be one of the most "showy" females in our herd.

Keltie's offspring thus far have been competitive in the show ring. We especially love Keltie's 2017 male offspring, Deimos (out of TGF Freestyle -- a Matrix Majesty line), who is a gorgeous dark fawn that garnered 1st Place and Best Bred & Owned as a yearling (19 months old) at the 2018 MAPACA show. He's been in more than one halter class where the judge indicated that every alpaca that placed had excellent fineness, character, and density, and that it was an extremely tough decision on placement.

This is what CCNF had to say about Rigel’s sire: Sired by our beloved beige Champion Herdsire, CCNF Elixir (whom we co own with our friends at A Paca Fun Farm), and out of one of our top Snowmass Matrix Majesty daughters, CCNF Capuchin, Leviathan is everything we could have hoped for when we decided in 2014 to start crossing his sire with some of the best colored females in our breeding program. The question coming into last year’s birthing season though, was whether Elixir could sire the same elite quality fleeces for us across the color spectrum that he had already proven he could in our lights and whites? The answer was an unequivocal yes, and the just-completed spring show circuit really validated that beyond any shadow of a doubt.
