If you want to see how important EPD values are, all you have to do is look at River's Sophia's EPD picture. Sophie's Dam LaPoudre has a mediocre EPD picture. But paired with Prophecy, her offspring's fiber and fiber traits are dramatically improved. Sophia's now can guarantee the production of offspring better than herself. Sophia's actual fiber characteristics are also excellent. The 2014 histogram AFD is 16.0. Sophia's father Prophecy was purchased from Stargazer Ranch, noted for their superior animals. Prophecy is the son of Accoyo America Apocolypse. Sophia has her first cria on the ground and predictably the cria already has dense crimpy cria fiber. This BREEDING TO OUR AOA 1% CLUB STUDS AND THIS PAIRING IS PRODUCING OFFSPRING IN THE 1% CLUB regardless of gender. Description

The word Tigris is an Asian word that translates as "fast". Little Tigris came out of her mother running at 13 pounds, a fitting name. Tigris is the first cria combination from both our sires, Hemingway's Bogart and Peruvian Prophecy. Bogart is the sire and the Dam Sophia is out of one of our first herd sire Prophecy. This has made for a wealth of good fiber traits and EPDs, unfortunately Sophia passed unexpectedly. We continue to utilize Tigress and look forward to a long lived foundation dam in our program. She has such wonderful genetics both up and down, which includes some old school genetics of El Bello and Hemingway.

Tigris's first histogram was AFD of 14.7 and the most amazing SD of 3.1. We are now on our third generation of using EPDs to guide our breeding program and it definitely is showing in this 2016 offspring Tigris. She is the whole fiber package for any breeding program. She would be an ideal foundation dam for any breeding program.

We did not show any of our juveniles the year 16/17 because we moved our business and you know how that goes. Also the one show we were going to enter got cancelled due to California wildfires.
