Colusa Riverside Alpaca Ranch is proud to offer alpacas with some of the most outstanding Fleece traits and Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) for all fiber traits. Our herdsires are in the top 1% - 15% across the majority of their fleece traits. We have been working hard over the past 18 years to selectively breed and purchase alpacas to achieve the level of genetics we can now offer our customers. Our stock's EPDs will predict improvement in all fiber traits outcomes in your offspring. I think our most prevalent fleece trait is fineness and density. Slow but steady progress has occurred here at Colusa Riverside in the goal to produce the best fiber in the industry and every alpaca's potential to pass that fiber character on to each and every offspring. Do You Want Herd Improvement, We Can Do It!
Colusa Riverside Alpacas can help provide overall improvement in the quality of your herd, be it by breeding or in our sale females. We can bring you up to producing show quality white crias. We have our white female herd and white breeding males at a genotype & phenotype that each will produce significant improvement in offspring.
We have 11 dams in 2025 who sheared from 9.1 to 15 pounds of fleece weight.
Our males can bring more density, more fleece weight, more fineness and more uniformity of fineness to a breeding female. If you're getting lower fleece appraisal because of density, we can improve that.
