Priscilla is a gem of a foundation female. At age one she has histogram average fiber diameter of 16 and at 3 it is only 19. She has other trait characteristics that are also very desirable, such as a CV of 10 and a SD of only 3.7. Her fiber density is as good as it gets with her father being Snowmass RRoyal Stars whose density skin biopsy is one of the best in the world. Priscilla has fineness and density, a grower's dream for a foundation dam. Her latest cria is out of Hemingway's Bogart and she is gorgeous. If you purchase Priscilla she will come with a breeding to one of our herdsire with a guarantee of offspring improvement and guarantee of producing offspring.

Priscilla not only has fine fiber but her Standard Deviation of fine fiber is 3.7. This SD is an exceptional indicator of uniformity of fine fiber across her fleece. If you look at her expected progeny determinations below on her standard deviation of AFD she should also pass along this uniformity of fineness trait to her offspring. We will show Priscilla at IAO this year in both halter and walking fleece. Take a look at Priscilla's histogram included on this webpage. It is truly outstanding in all fiber character traits.

We have purchased Priscilla and a number of foundations dams known to have good density or bred to a stud known to have exceptional density. We have made those purchases to insure our production line of alpacas will possess the density necessary for what we want to offer our customers. Plus we will striving, in our breeding program, to produce the ideal alpaca with the ideal fleece both in fineness and density. Priscilla has produced just over 8 lbs of fiber at every shearing. That is density and she is small framed.

Description

Passion is one of our last dams out of Hemingway's Bogart. Soft white and full fleeced medium sized girl. Has that Bogie conformation, longevity of fineness and improved fleece. The density that Bogie puts on his offspring is certainly an added benefit. Dam Priscilla is out of Snowmass RRoyal Stars also renowned for his fiber density. We expected good things from the pairing of Bogart and Priscilla, and got it in Passion. We lost Dam Priscilla so Passion became even more important in our breeding program. Passion was bred to Snow Diamond Chateau Cerise and his first cria is on the ground. Chateau has all the phenotype attributes and EPDs for a working sire to produce quality offspring.

Passion is packed with fine fiber. Her shear weight since age 3 was 6+ pounds for the past 3 years. Passion's AFD is 19 with an SD of 3.5 at age two. Her staple length is quite good, luster and brightness is beautiful. Nice Handle and best of all very rare guard hairs. Passion's SD is less than 4.0 and fibers greater than 30% is 0.7%, confirming what I observed, very few guard hairs and good uniformity.

Passion's EPD values are wonderful. She is at 5% ranking in all the top 4 fineness fiber traits. She is well improved over the national norm for 7 of 8 trait values. She will improve her offspring in all these fiber traits making her a very valuable foundation dam, not just minor improvement but major improvements.
