Uniquely marked - a bolero jacket

Bolero Giacca by CrawfordBred

Huacaya, Female, Proven | Dark Silver Grey, True Black

AOA# 36016785   D.O.B. 7/8/2019 (7 yrs)  (Due Date: 7/22/2026)

Sire:
4-Sight's Crawford
| AOA# 31777018  | Medium Silver Grey  |
Crawford is a nicely built, beautiful, light to medium silver grey guy with a wonderful handle (speaking both of his fleece and disposition) He is the result of two champion parents. His sire, 15X champ RR Gun's Kit Carson is truly still producing some beautiful, award-winning offspring. His EPD's show him to be in the top 10% for uniformity. That uniformity in grey is especially amazing! If you research his pedigree, numerous are banner winners and recent top sellers at select auctions.

Crawford was awarded a first place in walking fleece and a Reserve Championship in halter at the 2016 California Classic. Awarded over 23 other beautiful grey alpacas. We showed him as a mature breeding male and he took a 2nd place among some top grey breeders. Once again the judge commenting on the micron fineness, uniformity and handle of his fleece placing him above the others in the class. He just received a 1st place as a mature male in the AAWO spin-off.

Come get your hands on this guy - seeing may be believing, but sometimes touching really seals the deal. Nice staple length, near solid color blanket and a great handle on this boy. Really fine and Uniform AFD 18.4 & 3.05 SD - two histograms in a row! A breeding male with over a 97% comfort factor and in grey! We also had a fleece industry expert evaluate him and they affirmed he has the qualities of what a breeding male should.

Because he is steeped in grey genetics both sides of pedigree we anticipated that he would produce grey. His first cria was dark silver grey from a fawn dam without any grey. For 2018 he was 5 for 5 in grey - 3 silver 2 rose grey. In 2019 colors Crawford produced from him were rose & silver greys, true blacks and a bay black/maroon.

His offspring at 2018 California Classic received a 1st place, the other a 2nd in both halter and walking fleece. Comments from the judge were nice fineness, staple length and density. Gold Country 2019, one of his son's took a 1st place in walking fleece. Comments from renown Judge Wini Labrecque that she had to look down at his legs for guard hair, rarely gives a score of 9 so gave him an 8.5. He received a very nice total score (pictured to right)

Crawford is still holding commendable stats in fineness and uniformity as a breeding male of any color, so bring your best girls! Contact us today if you are interested in more information on Crawford. We now have offspring old enough to breed so can't wait to see what they produce for us.

Dam:
Dancing Elk's Isabella
| AOA# 35255048  | True Black  |
We didn't know in summer of 2017 when we picked up two girls from Dancing Elk alpacas that we would be back again so soon. When we saw firsthand how they are cared for, recognize the integrity and discernment made in a breeding program, we literally said we want to buy more but needed to sell some first (Imagine that concept) Fortunately it worked out. We just love Isabella's maternal grandmother and we feel so very fortunate this girl was available.

Isabella, as beautiful as her name - Beautiful black out of silver grey parents. Information off of Dancing Elk's site her sire, Argenta Granite passes on consistent crimp and long staple length to his multiple, award-winning offspring.

To accentuate her beauty, she has extreme presence. Nearly always prances up to the fence with her tail held high to greet visitors.

At the Great Western Alpaca Show 2017 she took a 1st in halter out of 11. Then in 2018 she took a 3rd in halter. She then took a 1st place in walking fleece above average scores in density and crimp/character, absence of guard hairs, uniformity. She received maximum score in uniformity of color (big hooray in true black) and 16.5 of 20 fineness/handle (a 19-20 AFD noted) AND a 7.5 of 10 in brightness! We recently decided to not only focus on uniformity of micron but more on brightness along with conformation. If looking at her beautiful head, bright fleece is not enough, "touch" her. We could not stop touching that blanket. Her histogram 21.7 micron with a 4 SD. Nice uniformity especially coming from two grey parents!

Her first cria was from a fine, uniform grey Kit Carson son. They gave us a beautiful silver grey girl with a little black bolero jacket pattern. A definite keeper! Next breeding we sent off Isabella to breed to Champion El Dorado's Captain Jack Sparrow, a Blackbeard son.

This past year we decided to breed her to Romeo's Raise the Roof before he left for Tennessee. We were hoping they produce a cria early fall but unfortunately she does not appear to be pregnant at this time.

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven, Medium Silver Grey
ARI# 35376217 | DOB: 11/2/2020
When you fall in love with a certain breeding program, appreciating their achievement in brightness (in grey color) you can hardly resist the temptation to add to your herd. We saw a post regarding some of Granite Bay beauties being available. Before other life circumstances could delay, we acquired him, sight-unseen. Well, we did have fleece shots and knew the reputation of care and lineage so we weren't worried one bit about what would be on the end of the lead when we received him. We co...

Description

This girl came out looked so dark grey you didn't initially notice her black front in a bolero jacket type pattern with her medium to silver grey body until she was dry. She looked so sleek & elegant. We couldn't quite settle on a name. That black Bolero jacket pattern helped us decide on the name "Bolero Giacca" Italian for bolero jacket. "Gia" for short, which the name means God is gracious. She was a spunky and fun little one that loved to run. As an adult she looks like she gives you "the eye" which is almost comical.

Her dam, Dancing Elk's Isabella is one of our favorites, beautiful and full of personality and her sire, 4-Sight's Crawford, simply fine, silver grey fleece. Both of their pedigrees are steeped in some of the great greys.

Gia was on our keeper list before she entered motherhood but has solidified her place in the herd. She gave birth to a spectacular female by the brawny, dense fleeced, TWT Hawkeye Dizzy Gillespi. Needless to say, we were almost ecstatic when she effortlessly birthed this beautiful robust girl. A beautiful rose grey, markings of white face and feet with the perfect touch of eye makeup. So gorgeous! We instantaneously named that girl Grazie - Thank you in Italian! Late last summer, she delivered a nice grey guy by Granite Bay's Blue Silver. He has potential with a fine uniform first histogram.

She is two for two in producing grey. Still not positive her breeding took
