This guy took a Championship at a young age at the California Classic Alpaca Show. In various shows he was entered as rose grey, moved to bay black and then in another show he was entered in dark brown. His fleece score cards showed above average density with very nice handle/micron and brightness. This guy had the heaviest blanket 7.2 pounds over 11 pounds total shear in 2021! Considering he is approaching middle-age that is pretty impressive.

He is certainly eye catching. His stance and his beautiful head, with fleece of an almost maroon hue. Nice conformation. We anticipate he got his nice density and fleece from his sire, also a champion, Accoyo America's Hawkeye. Dizzy is out of a lovely grey dam Laura Delacey. We are very excited to have some nice diverse genetics to try out when going for grey and love his solid color and sturdy frame, topped off by an extremely handsome head.

His histogram as ad adult was 17.2 micron and 4.5 SD - prior to that was 16.4 and 3.9! We really like that micron and uniformity, especially impressive considering his darker color.

He has produced a nice dark brown boy and an astounding rose grey female that we plan to keep. Since we already have a fair amount of his genetics and truthfully because he is harder to handle on a lead then we would like, we are entertaining offers on him at this time.

Description

There are best laid plans, best guesses and then sometimes best surprises. This girl's dam is very uniquely marked, somewhat tuxedo grey but almost half black in front. We joked at what color her baby would be as to which half was more dominant. We would not have ever guessed this color - it is even a different rose grey color than her sire - the reddish hue is very striking. When she was born a whole lotta of Grazie's came out.

TWT Hawkeye's Dizzy Gillespie gets an absolute atta-boy for this one. I am totally smitten with her color and markings and it isn't a typical color I gravitate towards. Honestly the eye shadow with the lips, she is a walking makeup commercial. She has beautiful face coverage. Some more silver grey color is evident after shearing off a truly beautiful blanket.

We decided to try her at fall shows and she took a respectable 3rd and 5th place from the different judges. Both judges commended her conformation.

We had her fleece processed into sport-weight yarn instead of chunky and it turned out quite nice.
