Her sire, SpringToo Skyfall, contributes solid-color Peruvian lineage known for uniform fiber, strong eumelanin anchoring, and subtle dilution drift—but no harlequin or appaloosa genetics. Her dam, Spot Snowflake, provides the only source of pattern, carrying the harlequin/appaloosa allele responsible for mosaic pigment suppression and grey-zone formation. Charm’s phenotype—beige with only a few faint spots—shows that she did not inherit the dominant harlequin/appaloosa allele, but she did inherit pattern-permissive modifiers from both sides. This makes her a masked carrier of color-instability traits, capable of producing patterned crias when bred to a male who does carry the actual harlequin/appaloosa allele.
