    FIRST CRIA NOW BORN!

    Stirling Ridge JOELEIGH

Huacaya, Open (Female), Proven | Light Fawn

    AOA# 36172443   D.O.B. 6/20/2020 (5 yrs) , 3/4 Peruvian, 1/8 Bolivian, 1/8 Chilean

    Sire:
    KING HEZEKIAH AT GRAZING HILLS
    | AOA# 31543835  | Light Fawn  |
What do you get when you pair a Diomedes/Running Late line with Cochiti?...something amazing! Hezekiah's fleece is incredibly dense for a 16.3 micron, and he has that gorgeous 57 curve statistic. What isn't measured on a histogram is brightness, and his is off the charts.

It didn't hurt any that his dam had a 12 micron fleece at her first shearing...her total stats took our breath away...12.4, 2.2, 17.6, 0.2!! Does she ever have a great handle?!

He has a proud, kingly stance with upright posture, and he thinks he is king of the farm!
He's always ready for a breeding and gets his job done!

His first cria, Grazing Hills Liberty, was born July 4th, 2016. She is a beautiful Dark Fawn that was up and running within an hour of her birth! Liberty's fleece was so dense and rolling, that we rebred her Dam, Charisma, to Hezekiah. Hoping for another beauty!

Hezekiah had 2 crias in summer 2017. Both are a beautiful medium fawn color, with fiber from head to toe! In 2018, he threw 3 more fawn girls and a medium fawn boy!

We are anxiously awaiting to see what else he throws for us again in 2019!

    Stirling Ridge VALORIE

Huacaya, Female, Proven, Beige, 3/4 Peruvian, 1/4 Bolivian
    ARI# 35355960 | DOB: 7/27/2016
She is bred and confirmed pregnant to Golden Pines Antonio, a true black. Antonio has given us two cria, a light brown & a beige, out of WHITE mamas. We're hoping for dark!

Valorie was bred to Flying Dutchman Alpacas Deacon Grey Silver BLADE (MSG) for a September 2023 cria. And on 9/14/2023 she presented us with a handsome bay black male cria with true black points (Blade's Blacksmythe). He's spunky and we think with his parentage and color he will make one fine future herdsire!

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven, True Black, 1/2 Peruvian, 1/2 Chilean
    ARI# 32304619 | DOB: 6/22/2011
We have recently acquired Antonio (Tony) and hope to produce a lot more color out of our white and light herd. So far he has given us a beige female cria (Vivianne) and a light brown female cria (Baeleigh), both out of white dams who have given us white cria before this, so we are very pleased!

He has now serviced Kaeleigh, Joeleigh, Annie, and Rhiannon for fall cria in 2025! All of these girls have spit off on successive weeks, so we are pretty sure we have 4 pregnancies. He seems quite po...

    Description

Joeleigh is absolutely, hands down my FAVORITE girl on the farm. She's very sweet natured, quite easy to handle, curious, has beautiful conformation and a gorgeous head, and amazing fleece! She is now a mature girl and just had her first cria from true black Antonio. And she gave us a little girl! This baby, now named Gwyneth, has the most crimpy, curly fleece I've ever seen on a little cria and the sweetest eyes in her pretty little head. She is light fawn and a beaut, just like her mama.

Joeleigh (JOE-lee) was born on June 20, 2020. As we expected from her dam, Valorie, and her sire, Hezekiah, she has gorgeous fleece! It's a crimpy light fawn, very fine, very long, and very heavy! How often do you see THAT combo???

I drool over her 2023 EPD stats! Here's what they mean for her prospective cria:
TOP 7% in the nation! Fiber Diameter (AFD) will likely decrease by -1.639, really good!
Standard Deviation of AFD could decrease by -0.043, (58%)
Top 12% in the nation! Spin Fineness (SF) will likely decrease by -1.419, excellent!
    % of Fibers > 30 micron could decrease by -3.551, amazing! (30%)
Mean Curve (MC) of fiber could increase by .516, a small help. (48%)
% Medullation (M) could increase by 0.591, (the full impact of medullation in fleece remains a question at this point in time says Yocom-McColl.) (77%)
Top 2.9% in the nation! Mean Staple Length (MSL) will likely increase by 3.687, incredible!
Top 2.3% in the nation! Fleece Weight (FW) will likely increase by 0.845, super nice!

QUESTION: What does a fine fleece, with a long staple length, and a heavy fleece weight mean to you? ANSWER: Density!

This little gal is nicely conformed. Just like her little mama, she's of medium size, has a long staple, very fine fleece, and an exceptionally heavy fleece weight. They look so much alike, I sometimes have trouble telling them apart. Both Joeleigh and her mom, Valorie, have some of the heaviest fleece weights in the nation (see EPD stats).
Joeleigh has a very sweet disposition, just like her mama, and has been added to our foundation females.
