Description

We have always commited to bring and show the best Herdsire prospect males on showcase, in our opinion we have done it again with Red Granites Irish Red, the first cross between a Canadian import female and one of our top fawn males.

Sired by our ELITE Herdsire whom we co-own with Amber Autumn Alpacas in Oregon; CCNF Legionnaire. He was the 2015 Futurity Fawn Male Champion & 2015 AOA National Show Fawn Male Reserve Champion, and also won multiple more championships and judges' choice awards throughout his show career. Legionnaire has consistently thrown offspring with microns below 18 and has even produced 13 micron fleeces with curvatures as high as 64.

Ireland Alyst (dam) was a female we bought from KJ Alpacas (Canada) at auction. It should be known that Ireland's 2016 micron was 15.4, 2017 was 15.9, and 2018 micron was 16.8. Ireland is not only fine but uniform and dense which she consistently passes on to her progeny, as seen in Irish Red.

When you study Irish Red he is strong-boned, short muzzled, stocky built, athletic in his movements and motions, dense, very fine, and bright fleeced. We brought forward one of our best crossed gentetic lines of 2019 for a chance of someone to enhance their herd. If we didnt already have many females that are closely related to this picture perfect male, he would be breeding for us.

Irish Red had a fleece length of 4.2 inches in 2021 that tested at 17.5 microns. Having the Canadian genes in this guy will help produce longer & heavier fleeces but with Legionnaire's added genetics you will have thse qualities with lasting fineness and uniformity.
