SNOW IS THE 2024 MAZURI AOA NATIONAL SHOW YOUTH HALTER CHAMPION! Diana Timmerman said he has outstanding huacaya phenotype and fleece character, with plenty of bone and substance. She stated he was more than deserving of his wins at Nationals.

Snow’s full brother is the sire of the 2024 Best in Show at the European Championships, held in Graz, Austria!!

When I bought lot 53 at the inaugural Education with a Destination auction in August 2022, I bought the right to pick my favorite three from a little group of Flying Dutchman Alpacas males that seedstock breeder and senior judge Amanda V. had offered from her private elite herd. I spent some hours there at her farm following the event picking my three with her personal input, which was an amazing experience. I can still hardly believe Amanda let this one go and that he lives here with us!

But as Snow’s parents are still working in her herd, putting him out of a job in the FDA herd, it’s time to put those genetics to work for us here on the east coast! With tons and tons of fiber, style, brilliance, and a correct phenotype from his mouth to his tail and toes, this male can step up your herd. Need fiber? Need correctness? Have a look! More than one judge has commented on how he has an ideal huacaya phenotype.

Snow’s sire is the incomparable Rembrandt by El Niño, and he is out of Snow Princess. Snow’s full brothers have ALL been exported. Snow is the only male with these lines in the US, outside of the FDA herd, presently.

Snow is also extremely friendly and so easy to have in the herd; he blended right in. He’s taken right to obstacles as well; we aren’t sure how he sees them with all that fuzz on his face, but he does a fantastic job at working the obstacles. He has already been a wonderful PR alpaca too, making people smile as he daintily eats treats from their hands. He was used in the 2024 Youth Judging Contest at Nationals, as he was willing to just stand there.

We started his show career at 2023 Jamboree, where he claimed a number of blue ribbons. He continued to win at MAPACA.

His 2023 fleece was placed 4th in Grade 1 whites in the National IFA show; he was not beaten by much…the judge’s impression of my skirting cost him third. His half brother went reserve. His 2024 fleece was even better!

He went on to win in the youth halter ring at 2024 Nationals, sweeping the entire section. He also continued to work for us in performance, winning adult performance champion at spring 2024 Buckeye.

Snow will be ready for breeding this year, and we will be donating 10% of his stud fees to support Quechua Benefit, a cause that is very important to us here at HCF, as well as saving up to send Gavin to judging school in the future. Please inquire about breeding.
