Description

Carlos is so sweet. He’s a bit shy, but once he picked HIS person, he has been amazing. He is very good for me at adult performance, and he actually did okay in fiber classes. I was quite pleased with his 2022 National IFA results, where he finished third (and not last in his class!), and I would literally take a whole herd of alpacas with fiber like his: workhorse 23 micron fiber with uniformity, staple length and a soft handle. His fiber is the type that makes items that readily sell like socks, hats and gloves.

He has a big frame with very solid and eye catching looks, but with a couple issues with his fiber (lack of density and being a fading fawn) I would not suggest breeding to him. I have him on my surgery list for this year; we are planning to geld him to maintain his nice and extremely useable fiber.

Carlos can be seen in several episodes of “Going Fur Gold” on Nat Geo Wild.

He is adaptable enough that he allowed a friend and colleague to compete with him at the 2023 Jamboree, finishing in the top 6 in every class.

Carlos has a lifetime home here. We will not sell him.
