Red Granites Larimer is a very impressive male!! He stands out in the pastures with his impressive full-coverage phenotype, large bones, capacity, and enduring personality. The fleece he carries is beautiful!! He has a great amount of brightness coupled with extreme density and a medium to high frequency fleece style, which is uniform in style and micron when you move across his body. His 2024 EPDs reveal that he is the 97th out of 30,000+ males for %M, meaning that on average, he will produce less overall fiber medullation than the breed average.

Larimer really came into his own his two-year-old/mature season, reason being why we brought him back out to shows. Since being brought back out to shows, he has done incredible things winning 6 Best Bred and Owned banners, a Reserve Championship in fleece, and a JUDGES' CHOICE award!! This makes him a 5th generation champion on the top (sire side)...

His sire, Red Granites Bad Boy, is a powerful Herdsire with longevity (<22 microns). His first histogram test reported an AFD of 14.7. At 5 years he tested AFD 17.1 and at 9 years he tested 19.7. Now testing at 10 years of age, his fineness has not diminished and his AFD holding at 21.5 microns with 2.9 %<30 and curve of 47.9. Bad Boy is packed full of color genetics and crosses the Snowmass Sub-Zero line with Snowmass Matrix and Snowmass XXXtreme. We sold a daughter of his earlier this year at the ACE auction...now its time to offer his ONLY colored son!!

Red Granites Lady Rose is the dam of Larimer. She is a top show-winning daughter of AOBA National Reserve Champion, Snowmass Matrix Rose, also the sired of world-renowned breeding male, Snowmass MR Sizlin Rose. Lady Rose's dam, Crescent Moon's Lorena is not only a champion herself but also a direct daughter of our late Crescent Moon's Shiftin Gears and out of a true black SCA Peruvian Desert Sun dam. Shiftin Gears was an ELITE male who shifted things into gears, with PERUVIAN & ACCOYO genetics to produce fine superior heavy-fleeced alpacas. He was a direct son of 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite 5057 crossed with a Full Peruvian, Peruvian Geronimo G187 daughter to give him the consistency in his fineness over a touch of a heavy fleece weight that has weighed 14 pounds in 2010 at 6-years-old. SCA Peruvian Desert Sun made his splash in the show ring from 2000-2003 earning 5 Championships, 3 Reserve Championships, 13 Blues, Breeder's Choice, AFCNA Award, Brightest Fleece, Best Crimp, Judges Choice, and Best Fleece. He has sired over 100 progeny and they have won over 50 banners. Besides a great pedigree, Lady Rose boasts an impressive brown fleece. Her 2024 report showed her retaining an AFD 23.5, SD 4.3, and CV 18.2 all at 7-years of age.
