What is the potential? The answer to that question is always our focus when making breeding decisions. Well, we called it right with the choice of the sire and dam for Hot Spice. We love it when a plan comes together.

Hot Spice's dam, Derwydd's Luciano's Luluy is our white full Peruvian foundation female with an impressive list of Accoyo genetics (Accoyo Pinachi, Accoyo Starr Kahn)from her dam and sire making her an Alianza-Accoyo cross - famous for fineness and winning alpacas. Her true black sire, our own Hot Stuff of Somerset Farm, is a 3X Reserve Color Champion with an impressive and long list of ribbons from halter and fleece shows. Then take a look at the color genetics Hot Spice is be carrying. From her dam we have medium silver grey from her multiple champion producing sire El R Peruvian Luciano. From her sire we have rose grey on the top and bottom of the pedigree and his sire is a multiple color championship.

See the appaloosa picture? That is Hot Spice's 1/2 brother from her dam. He was the result of breeding Lu to a medium fawn. Oh the possibilities coming down from Lu.

We are expecting Spice to follow In her dam's footsteps as a solid production female. Lu is an easy breeder, her deliveries are easy, she bonds quickly with her crias and produces an abundance of milk.

Hot Spice developed quickly...weighing 54 pounds at 3 months. Her frame is solid and well-balanced and carries a fine, uniform fleece with impressive staple length coming down from her dam and grand sire.

Last but absolutely not the least...Hot Spice has an amazing temperament. She will not only join the group of people when we are out in the field but is often so comfortable that she will cush. She seems to enjoy the attention and quickly becomes a favorite of the visitors...especially the children. She is extremely gentle.
