2nd Gen Saansey

Ranger

Goat, Saansey, Buck (male) | White

DOB: 2/28/2023

Sire:
Timbre

1st gen Saansey

Timbre

SaanseyBuck (male)Pale gold
DOB: 4/19/20206 yrs
Timbre is a hugely appreciated buck from Treasured Sunrise Acres in Parma, Idaho. She was willing to cross a few of her prize Saanen does with wonderful Guernsey bucks to create my next generations of Saanseys. Timbre is such a handsome boy, and has the classic Guernsey personality. Gentle, quiet, easy to handle, and non-destructive. His daughters are just as kind, and he stamps every single one of them with gorgeous flat wide rumps. I've been waffling for months about selling him, he is SO sweet and I really enjoy having him around. But with 6 of his progeny in my herd (including a son) and nobody for him to breed this year, it just doesn't make sense to keep him...

Dam:
Fern

1st gen Saansey

Fern

SaanseyDoe (female)White
DOB: 5/3/20206 yrs
Fern is hands-down the easiest goat I've ever had... Never a moment's trouble in her ENTIRE life. No health issues, never a bad attitude, and was trained to the milkstand without any fuss at all. Fern definitely takes after her Guernsey papa, being significantly daintier than her powerhouse mama. I was worried that the daintier frame might make her less productive, but as a first freshener this girl produced 7.9 to 8.2 pounds, every SINGLE day until breeding season. Hot or cold, eating alfalfa or timothy or just foraging, it didn't matter. 8 pounds, every day, like clockwork.. Now, at the start of her 3rd freshening, she's well over 10lb daily! Plus her udder is nearly PERFECTLY balanced, with symmetrical teats and large orifices that make milking her a breeze. Healthy, happy, EASY, and producing like nobody's business... Fern is my literal dream goat, and if I could have an entire barn just like her, I would! If only she would give me some doelings... 7 bucklings so far! sigh. **I bred Fern to Prince. Fingers crossed for doelings. Finally. Any doelings will be retained, bucklings will be available. Side note: Less than 4 months after Fern kidded the first time, I was talking to Mom about the fact that I had only kept 2 first fresheners that year. Mom couldn't remember who the second one was, and when I reminded her that it was Fern, her jaw actually dropped. She had completely forgotten that Fern was a FF... Fern was already so steady, so reliable, so calm and easy, that it just didn't compute.

Ranger's dam, Fern, isn't the most stunning goat in my barn (that would be Klae). But Fern produces the same amount of milk every single day. Hot or cold, eating alfalfa or foraging on pasture, she has the steadiest lactation I've ever seen... As a FF she gave 8 pounds (a gallon) every single day, and this year as a 3F she hit over 11 pounds a day before settling back into a steady 9lb average.
Plus, Fern is THE easiest goat I've ever raised. Never a moment's trouble (either health-wise or personality-wise) in her whole life.

Ranger's sire, Timbre, is the calmest dude ever. Plus he throws babies with big wide rumps that I just love. I have two of his milking daughters and they are just lovely.

This combo was just irresistible, and Ranger is exactly what you'd expect... Calm, gentle, and easy to deal with even in rut. A complete gentleman.

**Sale note:
It's been over 4 years since I got my 2 bucks from Treasured Sunrise acres (thanks Jolene!!), and now almost every single one of my goats is related to them. I'm holding onto Bravo for one more year because he's still got a half dozen does he can breed, but poor Ranger is running out of non-relatives. So I have to let go of my sweet boy.
