We always love when any kind of alpaca breeder decides to dive into the other world of alpacas (ie. suri or huacaya) and we absolutley love when we are chosen when suri breeders decide to do so! With that being said, we are beyond excited to congratulate and thank Scott, Sue, and Abby Shelhart of Shelhart Acre Farms on the purchase of two outstanding huacaya females: Red Granites Suki and Red Granites Oo La Love! 

It means so much to us that you chose Red Granite Ranch as the starting point for your Huacaya journey. These two girls are not only beautiful show prospects, but also carry elite genetics that will serve as a strong foundation for your herd in the years to come. With their combination of quality, presence, and potential, Suki and Oo La Love are sure to shine for you. 

Red Granites Suki is a direct daughter of multi-Judges' Choice winner, Estates Passionate Fever (whom we co-own with Crescent Moon Ranch & Sopris Alpaca Ranch). Passionate Fever has been stamping out some incredible cria over the last couple years, many of which have gone on to be multi-time champion winners! She is out of a champion fawn CCNF Legionnaire daughter, Red Granites Shea, who we almost sold to Europe last year. Shea comes from an incredible maternal line that dates back to H2R Seren, one of Happy Hounds most favorite females that they regret ever letting go of!

Red Granites Oo La Love is sired by Fleece Judges' Choice winner, Red Granites Chisholm (whom we co-own with Sopris Alpaca Ranch). His first group of cria this year have blown us away, and Oo La Love is no exception. Her dam is a direct daughter of Snowmass Sevens Orchids, one of our incredible foundation dams who has produced numerous champions and Judges' Choice winners. Her granddaughter, Red Granites Olita, was the #2 2025 National High Point Female in Halter and the 2025 AOA National Light Female Supreme Champion winner.

What makes this even more special? These two future stars are a birthday gift for Abby — a young woman with a remarkable eye for quality animals. Abby knew exactly what she was looking for, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her begin her Huacaya journey with two females of this caliber.

For now, both girls will remain with RGR. They will proudly represent their new owners in early 2026 shows before heading home to Indiana with their new owners at Nationals. We are so excited to see them succeed in the ring and later in your breeding program, where their influence will no doubt be felt for generations.
