Welcome to Aurora Alpacas

Aurora Alpacas is a family-owned alpaca ranch on 80 acres located in Sturgeon County just 10 minutes north of St. Albert. We purchased our 1st two alpacas in 2016 and since then, we have produced National, Supreme and Color Champions, which we are extremely proud of.

Aurora Alpacas raises and breeds quality alpacas that are registered in Canada and the United States. Currently we have 29 alpacas and with some exciting breedings that we did in 2025 we will continue to increase our numbers in 2026 with strong-framed alpacas with quality fiber and a good disposition. We also participate in fleece and halter shows primarily in Western Canada.

Our 1st public venture was in 2023 when we participated as a host farm for Alberta Open Farm Days and received +950 visitors over 2 days. In 2024, which was the Year of the Alpacas we welcomed 1,985 people and in 2025 there were 1,617 visitors. We are excited to share out story and our alpacas to give you a memorable experience. We continue to offer a variety of private and group tours promoting alpacas and agritourism - whatever you are celebrating an alpaca will make you smile!

Giving back to the community is also important to us. We are happy to work with non-profit groups such as Seniors Centers, Youth groups, and school/homeschool groups as well as the University of Alberta and N.A.I.T Vet Tech Program to offer unique experiences at a minimal cost.

We partner with a local custom fiber mill to process our fiber into yarn which we turn into quality products for sale or sell it as yarn. The retail side of our ranch also offers alpaca products produced through cooperators, novelty items and other unique alpaca products.

We look forward to sharing our alpacas and our alpaca products with you!
