Romance truly represents the epitome of the type of huacaya we are aiming to produce here. Delightful fleece with a strong true to type conformation. She definitely has roaning visible in her blanket hence why we registered her as MRG. Although she displays some roaning on her jawline and down her neck (with a couple of very small MSG spots in blanket), she did not inherit an apparent version of classic gene from her dam Ransom (classic rose out of Snowmass Conopa XX).

Romance's sire is none other than Snowmass Pure Reserve XX. Since his import from the US, Pure Reserve has shaped a whole new generation of outstanding alpacas and has redefined the standards here in Canada before making his way to Germany. Romance is no exception and definitely represents the next level of females here at our farm. She will certainly become a cornerstone in our breeding program.

We will get Romance genotyped shortly so we can further understand what is at play here and discover if she is carrying a cryptic version of the classic gene. It's unfortunate that this type of fleece colored animal often fall between two categories for showing purposes (loosing on colour uniformity in fawn and just not grey enough for grey classes!). Nevertheless, her overall quality and breeding value is clear to us and we look forward to many crias from this amazing little female!
