Field Trips, Large Groups

No matter the type of special group, come join the fun!

Field Trip/Large groups Information

We are very happy to have special outings for kids and adults alike. From Homeschools, Summer Camp Programs, FFA, University Vet Programs, Team Building and more, we love to have you visit our farm to share what we do and everything alpaca with you.

The experience is the same whether a regular tour or special group with a few exceptions.

We book these by phone so we can customize your experience a little further.

  1. Kid Programs: We respect the need to keep our kids in a more private environment. We know tracking all the kids is far easier than mixing in people you don't know.
  2. All other: We know you have larger groups with planned outings and the need to have your private experience.

Group Sizes:

We do set a minimum of 20 and maximum of 50 for your private event.

If you are a school and you wish to invite parents, please make sure they are included in the number of people attending. We will not allow parents to attend unless we know they are attending. We don't want strangers with your children and we don't know who is or isn't a parent for a given child. This is for the safety of the children, staff and our farm.

Tour Times:

10:30am 90 minutes

1:30pm 90 minutes

If your group has special timing needs due to distance travel we can discuss this over the phone when you book your tour.

Pricing:

Age 0-2 Free

Age 3-13 $10.00 (plus tax)

Age 14+ $12.00 (plus tax)

Tax Exempt programs: You just need to provide a copy of your tax exempt form, email to [email protected]. Note: If your group would like to book directly on line we have no way to make you tax exempt through the booking system.

Scheduling:

We require you schedule via phone: 816-255-8146 Kathy (Mrs. YaYa) will take care of your booking. We do not do scheduling via email.

We will need the following information: 1. Type of group, 2. Number of teachers/counselors Number of attendees divided into age groups: 0-2, 3-13, 14+. 3. Preferred Date/Time 4. Contact information: Email, Phone Number, Emergency contact name

If your children's organization allows parents to attend field trips, they must be included in the booking numbers. We do not allow parents to drop in to attend with children. This is for the safety of the children, teachers, and our farm.

If you have any questions prior to scheduling please call or email Kathy at 816-255-8146 or [email protected]

Payment:

Payment due at time of arrival.

Schools/Churches/Home Schools/Scouts/Other groups: We ask that one person collects the money for the group prior to arrival and one person pays at the time of attendance. If you have any further needs/questions, please call us directly.

We will not allow drop in parents/caregivers to pay on arrival. Money needs to be collected by the school in order to attend. See "Schedule" for additional Information.

Lunch Time:

We do have 5 picnic tables for your use. You can also bring blankets and have an old fashioned picnic on our lawn area. We don't have grills for use.

Snacks and other foods are not allowed in the store, or in the alpaca pastures. Please plan on snack time at the picnic tables.

If it is raining, we do not have covered facilities for lunch time.

Weather:

In severe weather be it snow or storms, we do not have shelters available. We monitor the weather and will communicate with you if there is a need to close or plan accordingly with you via phone and email. Our first priority is your safety! Keep in mind that a storm in the city, it could be sunny on the farm. We have seen this a great deal over the last few years.

Group possibilities

We know some want team building opportunities, or a travel bus stopping in as part of the trip, maybe a senior citizen group, or more. There are so many possibilities we would love to help you with your specific needs. We can discuss options with you over the phone. Make a list and we will plan your event with you.

Rules and Alpaca Behavior: (Click Here)

We privide all the information regarding rules and Alpaca Behavior. It is the responsibility of the person planning to pass this information (on our website) to individuals attending. Please ensure you pass this to your guests attending.

Questions and Answers: (Click Here)

While the link coveres general tours, there are plenty of commonly asked questions and answers that may assist you in planning your visit. Please take time to review this information.

Cancellations Policy: (Click Here)

When you plan your event, we do not ask for a deposit to hold the day and time selected. However, if you schedule and plan the date and NO SHOW, we will bill you for 50% of the balance due. Please make sure you call if you cannot make your scheduled time.

ADA Compliance

Deaf

We are committed to making our farm tours accessible and enjoyable for all guests. While we are not able to provide a physical sign language interpreter, we do offer our full tour information in written form to ensure effective communication. This includes key educational content, alpaca information, and tour details so that all visitors can fully participate in and enjoy their experience. Please let us know in advance if you would like these materials, and we will be happy to provide them.

Wheelchairs/Electric Chairs/Walkers

We strive to make our farm welcoming and accessible to all guests. Our grounds can accommodate wheelchairs, electric mobility devices, and walkers, with wide ?????? and exit areas and a mix of concrete and gravel pathways. There is also a small ramp (approximately 6 inches in height) to assist with access in certain areas. Please note that due to the nature of our rural setting, some surfaces may be uneven. At this time, our restroom facilities are not large enough to accommodate larger wheelchairs. If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can do our best to assist and ensure an enjoyable visit.

Companion Animals

For the safety of our guests and animals, we do not allow pets or companion animals on the farm. Under the ADA, trained service animals are generally permitted; however, they may be excluded if their presence would pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others or to the animals on the property. Due to the nature of our working farm environment—with livestock that may be unpredictable around dogs—we may restrict service animals in certain areas where safety risks are present. We are happy to discuss alternative ways to accommodate guests with disabilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Blind

We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for guests who are blind or visually impaired. We offer one-on-one assistance during your visit, including guided support throughout the farm and during interactions with our alpacas. For safety, when in areas with animals, a staff member or owner will remain with you at all times to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. While we do not currently offer materials in Braille, we are happy to provide verbal descriptions, answer questions, and tailor the experience to meet your needs. Please contact us in advance so we can best prepare for your visit.
