Welcome to YaYa’s Alpaca Farm! We are thrilled to have you visit us! To make your experience safe, smooth, and unforgettable, please take a moment to review these important instructions before your visit.
Plan Ahead for Travel – DON’T BE LATE!
- Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to check in and settle before your tour begins.
- Don't be late, please use google maps to get here safely. Goole will keep you up to date about accidents, road closures and delays. This feature helps you plan your trip and travel times. We monitor Maps and know when there is a delay or accidents.
- Traffic, construction, and country roads can slow travel—please plan accordingly. We monitor Maps and know when there is a delay or accidents.
- Use Google Maps and type in “YaYa’s Alpaca Farm.” Using our physical address often sends guests to the wrong location.
- If you feel like you may be late, call or text Mrs. YaYa: 816-255-8146. We’ll gladly help you find your way.
- We DON'T guarantee a late arrival will be able to attend the next time. There is no refund for no-show/late arrivals.
Check-In & Where to Go
- When you arrive, head straight to the Farm Store (Sign says OPEN and look for the BLUE DOOR).
- Check in with Mrs. YaYa, then head to the auditorium benches 5 minutes before your scheduled start time.
- Follow directions by staff assisting with parking.
- Please do not park on the driveway or grass—this ensures emergency vehicles can access the property if needed.
- OK, 2025 everyone did pretty good with parking. I MUST stress DO NOT PARK ON THE DRIVE!
- IF you are in line waiting patiently for the next open parking slot, PLEASE send your party to the barn to check in. We are not going to start without you, however we need to know your here and waiting!
We realize we have limited parking and at times parking is like playing Tetris. Please be patient we will take care of you!
Food, Drinks, & Pets
- No food, drinks, or snacks are allowed in the alpaca areas or store.
- No dogs, pets, or service animals are allowed on the property—please plan ahead.
Alpaca Etiquette Please review these rules for your safety and the alpacas’ comfort:
- No head or bottom touching. Touching an alpaca’s bottom may result in a swift kick! Always let the alpaca know you’re there before petting.
- Feed with a flat palm only. Never feed directly from the bag. Return all bags—we recycle to keep costs down. Don't throw hem in the trash, Please!
- Be mindful with food bags. Hide your bag if you need to step away; alpacas may jump up (on you) in excitement if they see it.
- Alpacas may “nibble” for attention. This is their way of saying “more food please,” not a bite.
- Kids under 3 must stay in strollers or wagons. No exception.
- No running, yelling, pushing, or hitting alpacas. You will be excused if you do so.
- Do not climb trees or hills.
- Do not open gates without staff. We’ll guide you safely in and out.
- Please supervise children in the store. Products are not toys!
Weather at YaYa’s Alpaca Farm We want your visit to be joyful and safe, so here’s how we handle different types of weather:
- Rain – We do not close for rain. Most of your time with the alpacas will be in our covered barns. You might feel a few sprinkles while walking between barns or to the farm store. Umbrellas don’t work well in our space—rain gear is best.
- Severe weather - If alerts are issued and conditions are unsafe, we will contact you accordingly. You’ll be notified by phone and email.
- Footwear – Our pastures have gravel and our barns have concrete floors. Mud boots aren’t required, but please wear what makes you most comfortable. No open toe shoes.
- Snow & Ice – We carefully consider road conditions, travel safety, and weather alerts. If we believe it’s unsafe for guests, we will close and notify you by email.
- High Winds – While rare, if wind becomes dangerous for guests or alpacas, we may close for safety.
- Other Weather Considerations – We take into account extreme heat or cold, as well as any storm watches or warnings, always putting the wellbeing of both our guests and alpacas first.
